He Can Do Bad All By Himself

Well America, so what is happening in politics today? Let's see, the Republicans are hot and cold on Financial Reform. No big surprise there. Chelsea Clinton is getting married. In the words of Mr. T, I pity the fool. President Obama pulls Immigration Reform off the table. As if we did not see that coming. After all, the GOP was saying that he (President Obama) could have his choice of either Immigration Reform or Financial Reform, but he could not have both. I'm waiting for the President to grab his nuts and pimp slap the GOP. Shoot, Ronald Reagan would have done it.

Perhaps the biggest shock in the world of American Politics is Florida Governor Charlie Christ flipping off the GOP by switching over to run for the US Senate as an Independent. Well, it was not much of a surprise to me. In fact, I wondered what too him so long to finally take that leap of faith.  Now that he has, I am very proud of Governor Christ.

Oh, I can feel all of the long faces, and the evil stares now. I am also hear the mumbling, some calling me a liberal for my statements. To each his own, I am who I am, and I know who I am, if you can't stand who I am, then I don't give a damn.  I speak my mind, and if it offends some people, I make not apologies.

Look here America, it is no secret that Charlie Christ fell out of love with the Republican Party some years ago. Even when he was the Florida Attorney General, Charlie Christ ruffled feathers in the GOP. In many regards, Charlie Christ is not much different from Joseph Liberman, who became disenchanted with the Democratic Party when he and Al Gore were attempting to run for the White House. Although Charlie Christ has conservative values, he is also a man of wisdom, and is not afraid to rub against the grain. You know, the kind of Republican that John Mc Cain used to be, before Darth Sarah pushed him to the Dark Side.

Perhaps the final stray for Charlie Christ what in the reaction that the GOP had to his decision to veto State Senate Bill 6. I think you know this bill. It is the one that would have determined a teachers merit based on their student's performance on a single standardized test. Passing such a bill would have been irresponsible, and Charlie Christ knew that all to well. Seems the GOP did not share the same values as Charlie Christ, and they promised that he would not have an east time in the race for US Senate.  Unless I missed my guess, did not the O'Jays have a song about those kind of people? What They Do?

So, here is the bottom line America; people join political parties for the support of the affiliation. I am certain that Charlie Christ initially felt that the GOP was the best vehicle to a long and prosperous political career. In the end, he discover that his party is nothing more than a group of political back stabbers who are hell bent on their own personal agendas. It is that kind of thinking that is seeding the demise of the GOP, and has placed the party on the Political Endangered Species list. Charlie Christ did the smart thing. He jumped off of a sinking ship, and left the rest of the rats to go down with it. Charlie Christ also avoided the muck and the mire that is the Democratic Party at this moment. In the long run, and only if he is true to his choice, Charlie Christ will find that his best move was to become an Independent. Charlie is not the type of person who believes in letting other define who he is.

Now Serving Dirty Politics With A Side of F@ck You

Hey America, how is everyone on this wonderful evening? OK, don't answer that question. You know America, I'd actually started writing a post earlier today, but I ended up losing the post because it was not saved to drafts. I think that was a good thing, because time was needed to allow a cooler head to prevail in the situation I was writing about. If the original post had been sent, as I intended to do, well let's just say that the entire Earth would have shaken.

Here is a summary of what I was writing about earlier. Lance Baxter, better known as D C Douglas or the voice over guy in the GEICO commercials was fired today. GEICO fired the man because he evoked his Constitutionally guaranteed 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech. Well, there was a little more to the story. Seems Mr. Baxter evoked his right by leaving a voicemail message for the Tea Party.

The message left by Mr. Baxter was very pointed and extremely too the point, and it highlighted many of the shortcomings of the Tea Party. Yes, Mr. Baxter went as far as classifying the Tea Party as a bunch of mentally retarded murderers, which was not too far from the truth when talking about a large percentage of the Tea Party. I mean, it is not their fault, after all many of the followers of the Tea Party have a high school education or less, and better than 96% of all Tea Party followers are gun owners, so draw your own conclusions. Well, the Tea Party took exception to Mr. Baxter's voice mail and decided they wanted to get a little revenge. Quick, sound like somebody we have known over the past 8 years?

Now, I am clearly not saying that the Tea Party did not have the right to redress, but what I am saying is the way they went about securing redress was extremely questionable. The Tea Party figured the best course for redress would be to post the text from Mr. Baxter's voice mail along with his phone number, and the phone number of his employer on their website and invite all Tea Party followers to "Get Him". Now I am certain that I do not have to tell you just how dangerous such an action was. It is especially dangerous when you consider that better than 60% of the Tea Party followers lack the critical thinking skills that a college education would have provided. With that thought in mind, a lot of things could have happened, such as someone finding out Mr. Baxter's address, and deciding to confront him in an extremely violent manner. Come to think of it, who is to say that the Tea Party would not go so far as to post the address of someone whom they consider to be an enemy of their cause?

Basically, the Tea Party is sending a message that the only people entitled to the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution are their followers, and people who think like them. All others, in the eyes of the Tea Party, are simply open game. Indeed, the message being sent is that if you have something to say about the Tea Party, then you need to be prepared to have your privacy violated. By the way, invasion of privacy is a felonious action which carries a stiff penalty in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974.

Now keep in mind, this is the same Tea Party who uttered racial slurs at the President of the United States of America and other minority members of Congress. This is the very same Tea Party who adopted a slanderous approach towards homosexuals. This is the same Tea Party who leans of such ignorant mouth pieces as Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and Sarah Palin (Who, by the way still has not quite figured out the actual geographical location of Russia). This is the same Tea Party who endorses these American Jihadists which they are calling Christian Militias. Now they are doing all of this under the protection of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, yet the Tea Party is insisting that Mr. Baxter does not have the right to the same protection under the 1st Amendment.  Sounds kind of like a double standard to me, but then again, we have lived under these double standards for more than 100 years, with each year getting progressively worst.

So here is the bottom line America; the US Constitution is meant to protect all Americans and not just a few. Some people twist the Constitution to suit their needs, and bend it to allow control over some aspects of our population. When I was a child, someone once said that if it is good for the goose, then it is absolutely great for the gander. To me that means that I have the same rights to voice my opinion as any of the Tea Party members. You do not have to like what is said, but according to the Constitution, you have to respect me because I too have freedom of speech. The Tea Party abused the provisions of the US Constitution by posting the information about Mr. Baxter that could had endangered his life, and ultimately lead to his being fired from GEICO. I guess this speaks to the cut throat mentality that is ever so present in our society today. Perhaps Mr. Baxter should take the liberty of posting the phone number to the day care that watches the children of the Tea Party leadership. Hey, go ahead and raise that eyebrow. The Tea Party set the standard, and all is fair in love and war.  Just when did we actually lose our morals in America? Did we ever really have morals? To be perfectly frank with you, it sure does not seem like it. Listen, Mr. Baxter could have chosen another option for getting his point across than to call and leave a voice mail for the Tea Party, and this is true; however, the Tea Party certainly over stepped their boundaries and created a dangerous precedence in the process. Is this what politics have become in America? Boy we sure could use a man like Ronald Reagan again.

A Spincter Says What????

Hey America, have you heard the latest? It is a new game that will replace the long standing children's game Simon Says. This game is called Iran Says. I kind of like this game because it has an air of comedy about it, well, at least it is making me laugh, so I will leave it at that.

Let's get serious now. Iran, who was not invited to the Western Conference on Nuclear Proliferation figured they wold best serve their agenda by holding a conference of their own. Among the participants were China and Russia. Yes, I know exactly what you are about to say. China and Russia were both at the conference hosted by the West, so they are burning the candle at both ends. Maybe yes, and maybe no. Let us look at the relationship between China, Russia and Iran.

First and foremost, it is important to note that President George W. Bush named all three nations, along with North Korea to be part of a larger Axis of Evil. Kind of sounds like a DC Co mic Book doesn't it? The Superfriends versus The Axis of Evil. Hell, I'd buy that comic book. Anyway, George W. Bush felt that China, Russia and North Korea each harbored secret desires to do grave harm to the United States of America. I mean let's face it, all three are Communist nations, and we, the United States, has had our fair share of run ins with each of them at one time or another. So, perhaps George W. Bush was justified in labeling China, Russia and North Korea as part of a larger Axis of Evil. Of course, another reason is that each of the three aforementioned nations have nuclear weapons, and the vehicles to deliver said nuclear weapons to our shores unannounced. In fact, both China and Russia have successfully deployed Ballistic Missile Submarines to areas just off of our Atlantic and Pacific coast line without detection by either our Navy or our Coast Guard. North Korea just wants us to provoke them so that they will be justified in launching a long rang e ballistic missile at Hawaii and San Diego.

Let's look at something else. Both China and Russia have maintained a long standing military relationship with Iran. In fact, the Iranian Air Force flies a variety of MIG fighters, including but not limited to the MIG-21, MIG-23, MIG-29 and MIG-31 with the MIG-29 and MIG-31 being classified as Air Superiority  fighters, the MIG-29 possessing dog fighting capability similar to that of the F/A-18, F-15C and F-16 fighters. Oh, let me not forget, Iran also has a few F-4 Phantoms, and perhaps five to ten serviceable F-14 Tomcat fighters courtesy of US. China provided Iran with Silkworm Anti-Ship Missiles, and various Surface to Air Defense weapons. Iran also captured a few US Made Hawk Anti-Air Missile Systems from Iraq as the US Armed Forced was pounding the daylights out of Saddam Hussein during Operation Desert Storm. Military note, never trust your hardware to your enemies. Now, this military relationship Iran has with China and Russia is extremely profitable to both China and Russia. So, although China and Russia came to hear what we had to say about Nuclear Arms Reductions, both nations still hold an affinity for Iran. I just hope we were not stupid enough to tip our hand towards Russia and China, because it is very likely they will share what they learned with Iran.

Now, Iran says they want Israel to join into talks on Nuclear Proliferation with a focus on creating a "Nuclear Weapon Free Middle East". What? Is Ahmadinejad retarded or something? Or rather, is Ahmadinejad a cool calculating poker player attempting to turn the tables on the West? Let us be real with one another, although a Nuclear Weapons Free Middle East is a great idea, Israel is not going to agree to it. This has absolutely nothing to do with Israel wanting to stand as the cock of the yard, but more so it has to deal with Israel's right to their existence. I am not one to say that I agree with Israel having nuclear weapons, but I am a realist too. Israel is surrounded by enemies. Egypt does not like Israel, Syria cannot stand Israel, Jordan merely tolerates Israel, Saudi Arabia would rather take a dump on Israel, Iraq and Iran both want Israel wiped off the map, and Turkey only deals with Israel because they are a part of NATO. The simple fact of the matter is the only thing keeping these countries from attacking Israel is that they know Israel is not afraid to retaliate using Nuclear Weapons. Remember during Operation Desert Storm, when Saddam Hussein successfully struck Haifa with a SCUD Missile. Israel was ready to launch a Nuclear Response, but the George H. W. Bush White House convinced Israel to allow the United States to fight the battle for them. Israel kept their finger on the Nuclear trigger for the remainder of the war. I honestly don't see Israel agreeing to reducing or eliminating their Nuclear arsenal, and Ahmadinejad is aware of that fact; indeed, Ahmadinejad is counting on Israel to reject the suggestion so that Iran will have full justification for developing a Nuclear Weapon's Program. Hey, Israel has a big dog, and Iran is going to want a bigger dog to counter Israel's big dog.

Now, Iran says they have the military might to repel an attack. Ok, tell me if I am reading too deeply into this, but that statement almost sounds like Ahmadinejad is calling the United States of America out. Does anyone else get the same feeling? It is almost like two kids in 5th grade. One kid says to the other "I am going to beat you up after school", to which the other responds "Ok, cool, but you have to get through my 9th grade brother first".  As I read this thing, I am getting the impression that Ahmadinejad is daring America to do anything. Kind of like Ahmadinejad put a wood chip on his shoulder, and is daring Barack Obama to knock it off. I think we should knock that chip off of Ahmadinejad's sh oulder, with the same hand we are using to jab the punk in his left jaw. Right about now, we should be launching a carpet bombing raid on the shores of the Straits of Hormuz to take out those freaking Silkworm Missile Batteries. After that we should have mine sweepers lead three Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups into the Persian Gulf and begin round the clock raid on anything that remotely looks like an Iranian Military Installation. The Navy and Air Force can handle that while we position US Marines and US Army Combat Forces on the eastern and western borders to Iran. Anyone down for an Iranian Sandwich?

Here is the bottom line America; We cannot afford to play footsies with Ahmadinejad. This fool only understands violence, and he is playing military poker with us. We need to up the ante, and call his bluff. Talking is not an option here, because you can only talk to someone who is willing to listen. It has become obvious that Ahmadinejad is not willing to listen, and so we must make him listen. Now, I fully respect President Barack Obama for his diplomatic approach to just about everything, but we must realize that diplomacy is not the answer to everything. Sometimes you have to slap the living dog crap out of someone to get that person to listen, that is a fact of life. Now I know that there are people who were not bought up to be violent in nature, and indeed President Obama may be one of those people. My message to President Obama is this; Ahmadinejad is trying to pull your punk card, and this is not the time to play the bitch. If you are not willing to take the steps needed to ensure compliance from Ahmadinejad, let's you and I switch places for a week or two, because I will assure you that Ahmadinejad will cease to be a problem very quickly, as will any one else who thinks that America is a nation of pussies. We did not start this fight with Ahmadinejad, but we should not be afraid to let him know that we will be more than happy to finish t he fight. Ahmadinejad is talking crap because he thinks we have a bitch in the White House. It is time we showed Ahmadinejad who the real bitch is. Our US Colors are Red for the Blood shed by countless Patriots sacrificing to build our great nation, White for the purity that is represented through Democracy, and Blue for our willful might and resolve to defend all which our great nation stands for. The Stars? Oh those are what the enemy will see when they wake up from the butt kicking they received from messing with America. God Bless The USA.

Here We Go Again - Mid Terms Are Coming

Hello America! Man, oh man is this country shaking like an unbalanced and overloaded washing machine on spin cycle. Seems like a little bit of everything is going on. Actually, it feels like we are on a run away stage coach, and no one, and I do mean no one, is willing to grab the reigns and control the horses.

Let's see, what are we dealing with now? Well, there is the Jobs Bill that is hitting a brick wall in Congress. Oh, did we honestly think the Republicans were going to keep rolling over and taking it in the rear? Come on now people, even the GOP has limits to the amount of crap they are going to take. So the Jobs Bill has hit a major partisan stall, and it is not likely that this bill will be pushed through the way that the Health Care Reform Bill was. Now in fairness, Congress did authorize to extend unemployment benefits in the mean time, but we all know how the whole unemployment thing works. So, the reigns of joblessnes slipped out of the hands of the coach driver, and neither Republican, nor Democrat is willing to grab at it right now.

What of the Financial Oversight Bill? You know the one, it is the bill that would impose massive fines and penalties on the Mega-Banking Institutions that are failing and causing a massive impact on the economy. News Flash? Ever wondered how so many people in Congress were elected in the first place? Takes money to get elected. Hint, Hint, Hint. So, did we really expect the Republicans to sit idly by while the butter for their bread was being taken away? If you did, then you are a far bigger fool than I am giving you credit for being. Many of the Republicans, and indeed some of the Democrats in Congress have ties to these major lending institutions. Most of these elected officials worked for these major lending institutions at some point or another in their life time. With that thought in mind, you can best believe that the Republicans forcing the White House to rem ove the $50 Billion Dollar Penalty Clause from the Financial Oversight Bill is more so for self preservation than it is to benefit the masses who fall prey to these institutions on a daily basis. Hey, Capitalism is an awesome thing, as long as you are the head and not the tail.

About the only Republican to show any kind of real initiative this week is Florida Governor Charlie Christ, who elected to exercise the power of the veto o State Senate Bill 6, which based a teacher's compensation on the performance of his or her students based on a single standardized test. Funny, I thought we are trying to get rid of the Freaking Crazy Anal Test (FCAT) that has been the bane of many school kids in the state of Florida for years. Anyway, because of his actions, Charlie Christ is receiving flack from his party, the Republicans. He is receiving so much flack that Charlie Christ is considering "Turning Coats" and changing his affiliation to Democrat. Wild isn't it? The Republicans eat their own.

Speaking of not being able to make up one's mind about what side of the fence to play on; will someone please tell me what in the heck Sarah Palin is calling herself doing? She is acting more so like a rebel without a clue. She is Republican, but she does not have sufficient clout to mount her own campaign and produce any king of real and tangible success, so she grabs to coat tails of the Tea Party, and becomes their mouth piece instead. Ground Control To Tea Party---Jettison the No Load As Quickly As Possible Before It Explodes And Takes Your Ship With It. Come on now, can Sarah Palin even spell Karl Marx? I mean really, take the breast off of her and dye her hair grey and you've got George W. Bush in a different wrapper. We are talking about a lady who did not understand that a body of water separates her state from what was the Soviet Union. This is the woman who thought she could ride her bike to Moscow. Let's get real p eople. Have you honestly listened to this woman talk? The lips are flapping, but there is not much brain activity to filter what is coming out of her mouth. She is trying to position herself as the GOP Front-runner to take on Barack Obama in 2012? Assuming the world will still be around in 2012, the GOP's best bet would be to position Newt Gengrich to take on Barack Obama, if the GOP is really serious about recapturing the White House. If they are not, then let their Pit Bull continue to bark, eventually like all dogs, she will tire out and just go to sleep.

So where do we stand America? Well, here is the bottom line; the Democrats were presented with an excellent opportunity on January 20, 2009. That opportunity was being positioned with enough leverage to effectively drive discussions in Congress and get things done in a bipartisan way. Instead of working to build strong relationship across the isle, the Democrats adopted a "My Way or The Highway" approach , and as a result drove a wedge deeper into the already strained relationship between the parties. Now the Republicans are operating in "Get Back" mode and looking to fill as many seat as possible with GOP Candidates during this upcoming mid-term election cycle. The ultimate goal is to strong arm the White House in 2012, and thus shifting America back into the old status que. Every politician, even Barack Obamaa, claims that they stand by the methodology of Ronald Reagan, but I have yet to see it. Ronald Reagan, being a Republican, realized that he needed Congress on his side. At the time of his first election, the Democrats had the Congressional Majority. Reagan's primary order of business was in reaching out to members of the Democratic Party and bridging the gap. The result was nothing short of amazing. Reagan fired the striking Air Traffic Controllers, and the Democrats stood with him because they believed in him. Reagan was able to secure funds to support militar y efforts in Grenada, Lebanon, South America, and the Persian Gulf because of his influence and reputation for giving each party what they wanted. Ronald Reagan was the epitome of public service. The politicians of our present day pale when compared to Reagan. What our nation needs is another incarnation of Ronald Reagan. We need a politician who will draw both sides of the isles together, and unify America. Frankly speaking, I am sick and tired of the political back stabbing that we have been made to witness over the past 20 years. Let's get it right America.

What Do Terrorist Look Like?

Good Morning America! Time to wake up, and get on our merry ways to our appointed occupations. Time to earn that bacon so we can bring it home after 8 hours and fry it up for dinner.

Hey, let me ask you all a question; what does a terrorist look like? Oh I see you scratching you heads and saying "Huh, why is he asking that?", but it is honestly a good and legitimate question. What does a terrorist look like?

Indeed, many of you are saying "Terrorist are Muslims who neither like Americans, nor believe in our religion", and that is true of some Muslims. Others are saying "The people of Iran", and that is true of a small population within Iran, and the vast majority of the rest of you are mostlikely saying "Those Radical Islamics", and again, that is true of a portion of those who follow Islam, but what about those terrorist who live just down the street from you?

What am I talking about? Who am I talking about? I am so glad you asked. What about the man who beats on his wife? Is he not a terrorist in her eyes? What is that you say? He can't be a terrorist because he is White? Oh my goodness, please wake up. What about the teen who hung a noose on the front door of the black family who moved in across the street from him? What is that you ask? It was merely a childish prank, how can he be considered a terrorist? What about the lady in the car, who was talking to her "Sista Girl" on the cell phone, and develops road rage because someone moved in front of her while she was not paying attention? What is that you say? She had a right to get upset and force the other driver off the road? What about the group who gathers to scare black people away from Walmart? What is that you say? The Constitution guarantees their Freedom of Speech? Oh wow, if you are not lost in the fog, I do not know where you are.

By definition America, a terrorist is anyone who uses fear to accomplish a goal, or control a certain subset of the population. A terrorist can be as grand as someone plotting a coordinated attack on another, or as simple as a school kid telling another that he is going to beat the other kid up after the bell rings. Terrorist are not of any particular race, religion, creed or color. There are just as many terrorist who hide behind the banner of Christianity as there are who hide behind the banner of Islam. So why is this important? I'll tell you.

President Obama is in the process of rewording a document written during the administration of George W. Bush. This document identified a terrorist as "Radical Islamic". Although the wording of the Bush document may have had an element of truth, it was too broad in its scope, and opened the door to racial indifference against all members of the Muslim faith. Not all Muslims are terrorist, just a few of their idiots. Problem is, there are many people in Amer ica who says that President Obama is rewording the document because he is a Muslim. Point of reference to those who od not know, Barack Obama is a Christian, and he does not follow any of the teaching of the Muslim world.

Here is the bottom line America; many of us, myself included limit our knowledge to that which is told to us. Very seldom do we dig and research on our own. That creates a racially negative environment in America, and we are far better than that. We need to better educate ourselves, so that the words of the few do not become common consensus in our nation. Let's become better informed, and by doing so, let us become more sensitive to others who share the world with us. That's my take on the issue.

This Is What I Am Talking About

Hey America, I was just about to go when something caught my eye. I will admit that this item struck me as interesting, and yet comical at the very same time. Irony in the greatest sense of the word.

I happened upon a news article where President Obama was cited as saying that Nuclear Terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States. Can I get a big ole "No SH#T Sherlock" anyone? It is obvious that America needs to be concerned about nuclear terrorism, especially giving light to the countless number of rogue entities that presently have access to weapons grade nuclear materials, and the hostile nations who are trying to develop nuclear weapons programs. What I find to be ironic is while President Obama is acknowledging the threat of nuclear terrorism, he is in the process of limiting the roles of our nuclear forces.

OK, call me stupid, but if my enemy has an armored personnel carrier, why in the world would I give up my Br adley Fighting Vehicle? It just does not make a whole heck of a lot of sense at all. It is almost as if we are looking at the world of nuclear warfare as if it is something contained within a very small box. A truly illogical assessment to say the least.

As I said in my previous post, now it not the time to play poker with our country's defense. As long as we have our arsenal, other countries and enemies tend to think more than twice about doing anything as stupid as attacking America. As I see it, even if some terrorist were to attempt to launch a nuclear attack against America, he would be rising not having a country to call home afterwards. Of course that is assuming our Intel is worth anything.

Here is the bottom line America; we know people are gunning for us, so why in the name of all that is righteous would we so much as consider limiting the role of our nuclear forces. That is more than just irresponsible, it is stupid. I would love to believe ou r leadership is not stupid, but hey, if it waddles, quacks and swims, it must be a duck.

OK, Let's Put Away Our Toys

Hello America, lovely weather we are having now, don't you think? That's cool, but you know me, I did not come here to talk about the dog gone weather. We'll just leave that to the weathermen on the local news stations.

Reducing the nuclear arsenal. Sounds like a nice thing to do doesn't it? Honestly, let us think about this for a moment or two. One less nuclear weapon to worry about. Fewer children having nightmares about a monstrous mushroom cloud looming over their cities? Less people worrying if their pet turtle is going to turn into Gamera or some crap like that.

Yes America, in a perfect world, limiting the role of our nuclear arms program is an excellent idea; however, we do not live in a perfect world, now do we?  Oh no, we live in a world where the newest four letter world to most cultures is America. We live in a world were people smile in our face as we visit their countries, while eagerly waiting for us to turn our backs just long enough for, well you get the picture. The inconvenient truth is that people in other nations ate Americans. It does not matter if you are a White American, a Black American, or a Little Green Martian American, people around the world have it in for us. This is true even of our allies. Sure, Great Brittan looks at America as a dedicated ally, but it is not hard to see that deep down inside, they are still a little pissed off at how this brash band of rebels turned the crown into a laughing stock.

With all of the hostility in the world towards America, we can rest in the comfort of one little tidbit of knowledge. People don't mess with us because we have enough nuclear firepower to make it a bad day for anyone who may even remotely consider an attack on our sovereignty. Because of our nuclear arsenal, Russia keeps to themselves, China stays put, and any other rogue nation thinks 1 million times about doing something as stupid as launching an attack on America. The old "If We Do, They Will" way of thinking keeps most of our enemies right where we want them, off of our shores. Certainly an elephant will crush a mouse, but if that mouse a tank, the elephant thinks twice about stepping on the mouse.

Why is this important? I'll tell you. We, America, are in a unique position to where we have an awful lot of leverage in negotiation. We, don't want to lose said leverage. I feel that is what we are about to do with the President's recent announcement that we are going to limit the role of our nuclear forces. Imagine this, the kids in your neighborhood had these bottle cap guns. Basically a 2x4 with a clothes pin and a good strong rubber band. You build a bottle cap gun that is capable of firing 4 bottle caps at the same time. It is possible because I made one. This is your primary defense weapon. You and your friend meet, and you suggest that you will only fire one bottle cap at a time from you r nice four shooter. Seems fair, right? Yeah, until four of your friends attack you. We decide to limit the role of our nuclear forces to just Iran and North Korea, as I believe it was suggested, and now China has an in, and France has an in, and Russia has an  in, as do several rogue former USSR republics who still have the left over nukes from the cold war. That is the making of a bad day for the home team.

Bottom line is this America; to so much as suggest that we, America, would limit the roles of our nuclear forces without assurance that countries like Iran, North Korea, Syria, and other nations who harbor a disdain for America do not have nuclear weapons is completely irresponsible. Not to mention limiting the role of our nuclear forces without assurance that Russia is doing the very same is the equivalent of tying the right hand of Evander Hollifield behind his back, and sending him into the right against Mike Tyson. What President Obama is hoping is that the world will follow our lead. Well, in a perfect world, and in the movies, the world will follow our lead; however, in this hell hole of a world that we presently live in, other countries would much rather trample on our backs, than to follow us anywhere.  I applaud President Obama for trying, but I believe he is slightly over zealous with this one here. It is ok to talk about nuclear arms control, but the smart move is to ensure everyone else is doing it at the same time we do. It we have 100 B-52's, let us not reduce that force to 30 while Russia still has 90 TU-92's if you understand where I am going with that one. We live in a hostile world, now is not the time to play poker with our nation's defense.

OK, We Are Playing With Iran Because??

I Ran, She Ran, They Ran, We Ran. Those were the lyric to a song in 1979 during the early days of the Iranian Hostage Crisis, which was an event that served to be the death nail in the career of then President James Earl Carter. Out of sheer irony, that event is connected to what is going on in Iran today.

To say that the nation of Iran has been a thorn in the side of the United States would be a major understatement. In-fact, Iran has been much more than a mere thorn, they have been a raging lion clawing and ripping away at American resolve for several decades. I, for one, and sick and tired of that lion, and feel that we should slay the beast before it does any more damage.

In 1975, then President Gerald R. Ford sold a package of military hardware which included several Knox Class Frigates and 75 F-14A Tomcat Fighter Jets to what was then a friendly government in Iran. Well, we all know how things go for Western Friendly Governments in the Persian Gulf Region, they are often over thrown by more radical, and indeed more powerful rebels who are hostile towards the west. Such was true of the nation of Iran. In 1979, a group of college students, one of which was named Ahmadinejad (a name that would become as infamous as Bin Ladan) raided the US Embassy in Iran and took 52 Americans hostage. President James Earl (Jimmy) Carter ordered three US Aircraft Carriers believed to be the USS America, The USS Independence, and The USS Kennedy into combat stations in the North Arabian Sea, an area that sailors for many years would come to know as Gonzo Station. Those Aircraft Carriers remained on station for more than 7 months, and there was even an attempt to launch a helicopter assault which failed as the pilots flew into a sand storm. Ever service member on that mission was lost as the helicopters crashed in the desert of Iran. They never made it within 200 miles of the US Embassy.

Despite demands from the Amer ican people for a more aggressive action, President Carter failed to rise to the challenge. That was a shame because 1980 became an election year, and a highly energetic and outspoken Governor from the state of California threw his hat into the ring. Ronald Reagan was no stranger to drama, after-all, he was an actor before he was Governor of California. Upon winning the election in November 1980, Ronald Reagan stated that it would be in the best interest of Iran that they release our hostages before he takes the oath of office. I remember that vividly because my father looked me in the eye and said, "I don't think he is bullsh@ting, he looks like he will pull the trigger". Now I was way too young to be in the military, but I understood my father's metaphor to mean that Reagan would have ordered a massive air strike and would have killed anything Iranian if they failed to do what he said. I don't know if the Shah of Iran acted out of charity, or fear, but on J anuary 20th 1981, as I stood on Pennsylvania Avenue in my high school marching band uniform freezing, we waited until the loud speakers announced that the American Hostages have touched down at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, and were now in the custody of the United States Air Force. Immediately following that announcement  I heard the worlds "I Ronald Wilson Reagan".

That was certainly not the end of our encounters with Iran. During the 1980's, Iran maintained an ongoing war against their neighbor Iraq. Both countries took their aggression out on oil tankers which belonged to the nation of Kuwait. This action compelled Ronald Reagan to order that the American Flag be flown from 6 Kuwaiti oil tankers, which the US would provide escort for under the code name Operation Earnest Will. Of course neither Iran, nor Iraq took the action seriously, so Naval Task Force 77, which included the US Aircraft Carrier Ranger, and the US Battleship Missouri entere d Gonzo Station. Our goal was simple, give Iran a taste of what they are giving to those defenseless Kuwaiti oil tankers.

Iraq got the message pretty quickly, but Iran chose to be hard headed. After a few hit and run raids on the Re-flagged Tankers, INTEL revealed the attacks were coming from 3 oil platforms inside the Persian Gulf, so the order was given, and surface combatants from Battle Group Echo (The USS Ranger's Battle Group) entered the Persian Gulf and destroyed all three oil platforms. Operation Earnest Will continued into 1988, even after the USS Ranger was relieved and returned home. In April of 1988, Iran decided they would escalate their campaign against the Kuwaiti Oil Tankers by launching a full naval assault. The USS Enterprise and her Battle group were on station. Now, in what is perhaps the most controversial naval tactic in recent history, two US Navy Aegis Class Cruisers took up a formation so close to each other that on the radar screens of the I ranian Knox Class Frigates the two cruisers looked like one big oil tanker. The Iranian Frigate engaged and the two cruisers revealed themselves. The ensuing fire fight which included Harpoon Missile attacks from aircraft launched by the USS Enterprise became known as Operation Praying Mantis, and was successful in sinking two thirds of the Iranian Navy. To this day, I still do not believe they recovered.

So the war between Iran and Iraq ended in 1989, and from there you know the history of events that transpired between Iraq and the United Stated. Iran opted to sit back and watch. What is funny is that seemingly as Saddam Hussein was removed from power in Iraq, Ahmadinejad was rising to power in Iran. Yes, the very same Ahmadinejad who was involved in the Iranian Hostage Crisis in 1979. That lion was not gone, he was merely hibernating until an opportunity arose. Now Ahmadinejad immediately began a campaign of saber rattling against the United States. So vocal was Ahmad inejad that then President George W. Bush included the Nation of Iran in what he called an Axis of Evil. Unfortunately with American Forces committed to the rebuilding of Iraq, and fully committed to the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan, America just simply did not have enough forced to take on Ahmadinejad. And so, Iran grew stronger.

Now we are faced with an incredibly dangerous and volatile situation. Iran is playing around with nuclear power, they have ballistic missiles that are capable of reaching Israel, and they are working on something called Theater Denial Technology to prevent our Navy from getting close enough to do any major damage to their agenda. We also have another incarnation of Jimmy Carter in the White House. Not saying that our President in ineffective, just a tad bit naive and inexperienced when it comes to dealing with hostile governments like that of Iran.

Here is the bottom line America; Iran has been a loaded gun laid on the tabl e with it's barrel pointed at the United States for more than 30 years. Well, the hammer of that gun is cocked, and so radial college boy has his finger on the trigger. President Obama made a gesture for Iran to enter into dialogue with the United States in an attempt to reason with Ahmadinejad and come to a rational solution to a possible nuclear stand off. I do not know how much of a student of history President Obama is, but Iran descends from a race of people who used to walk on fire as their form of worship and praise to their god. That is to say there is simply no reasoning with these people. These are the very same people who sent poorly armed soldiers to face 300 highly trained and well armed Spartans. These are also the people who continued to charge the Iraqi border even though Saddam Hussein had deployed some highly poisonous mustard gas. In other words, losing a few Iranian citizens is nothing so long as their goal is accomplished. For goodness sake, these are the pe ople who threatened to "WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE MAP", how can you reason with someone who is willing to attack the chosen of God, and will not rest until the chosen of God are no more. The answer is simple, you can not reason with them. Now Ahmadinejad has said that he rejects the olive branch extended by President Obama? Note to Barack Obama, seeing that you have already pissed off 85% of all conservatives in America, I would recommend that you take a massive step of reconciliation with the GOP. Said step is simple. Since Ahmadinejad does not want to talk to President Obama, let us send some presidents that Ahmadinejad will not be able to reject. I suggest George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and George H W Bush. For those of you who are a little slow, let us put USS in front of the presidents I just mentioned, and you will get the picture I am trying to paint here. We do not need to monkey pump around with Iran. The time for action is now, because the longer we wait the more dangerous Ahmadinejad becomes. So, President Obama, I think you need to take a suggestion from your former political rival and "Bomb-Bomb-Bomb, Bomb-Bomb Iran". America will judge you on the actions you take with regards to Iran. Do not turn a deaf ear.

Drill Obama, Drill

Hello America, and just how is everyone doing today? Oh? A bunch of mumbling? Well OK, so mote it be.

So, the President of The United States finally caved in to something he opposed during the 2008 campaign cycle. Amazing, isn't it? Honestly speaking, most of us knew it was just a matter of time. The question now, is the gesture too little, too late?

We are talking about off shore drilling. Let us drift back to the campaigns of Senator John McCain and his running mate Sarah "I Want To Be Like Glen Beck" Palin. What was the rally cry in most of the coastal communities that were visited by McCain and Palin? Oh yes, that's right. That rally cry was "Drill Baby! Drill!". Senator McCain had long been an advocate of off shore drilling as a means of reducing our dependency of foreign oil, and thus breaking the strangle hold that Saudi Arabia has on the United States of America. Then Senator Obama rejected the notion o n the grounds that drilling will have a profoundly negative impact on the environment. Instead the Senator who would become President leaned more so on Clean Coal Technologies, Cleaner-Safer Nuclear Energy, Wind and Solar power, all of which would have taken much longer to achieve their goals than drilling.

Now, it seems that President Obama is making a massive shift in his energy policy. He really had no choice, since the Democratic Party had been successful in a nearly complete isolation of the Republican Party, President Obama now realizes that he actually needs some Republicans in his corner. Truly ironic that it took him so long to be hit by that Epiphany. Out of all of the states which border on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, a majority of them are Republican controlled. Yes indeed, Obama may not have needed the Republicans on Health Care, but rest assured he is going to want to have some Republican friends leading up to the November Mid-Term Elections and beyon d, otherwise the next two years are going to make Bill Clinton's first four year look like a major success.

Bottom line is this America; President Obama has painted himself into a very unique corner, one that only the Republican Party can get him out of. It is one thing to want to get things done using only the majority in Washington DC, but it is the Minority that pulls the purse strings in Washington DC. Each and every one of those 178 House Republicans could, in his or her own way, create a very bad day, or term for The President. What President Obama needs to realize is that he lacks the experience, communications, and negotiation skills to effectively smooth the troubled waters in Washington DC. He can not continue to hurl rocks into troubled waters. Do I think it was a good idea to open up to Offshore Drilling? Certainly I do, with oversight from the EPA and OSHA. Do I feel this will smooth over relationships between the White House and The GOP? Are you kid ding? They, the GOP, have every right to look upon this gesture and ask "Ok Buddy, What Do You Want To Back Door Us On Now?". Offshore drilling is a step in the right direction, but this gesture amounts to an olive branch that may have come too late to salvage the peace.
